Perfect!

I really thought I would miss cable and have a hard time adjusting to watching the Roku. WRONG! This device brings a whole different and better means to watch so so many things. Current TV shows and tons of movies....I do not miss a thing..Only drawback? What's with CBS not being on Hulu?

I had an Apple TV, then bought a Roku, then another and then a 3rd one. I use the 3rd Roku just to check out all the capabilities and check them instantly next to my computer. I am a media hound and a high tech guy. The Roku has almost endless capabilities that can bring entertainment unlike you might think possible. Anyone who doesn't think so is just not aware of its power. A big surprise is Roku support. They really work hard to make sure you can realize the capabilities of your Roku server and will hang with you until you get it. They are always patient and polite.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Closest to perfect so far

I'm only interested in players that will work with my Sling Box. Because this will work from my sling app on my iPad it's the only box I've had so far that allows me to have the actual Directv virtual remote on my iPad while I watch the show on my TV. In addition to Roku is the first box that has come close to matching the processing power of my computer when watching the Sling. Important since this speeds up how fast remote commands make it to the home sling unit.
I'm just now starting to experiment with other apps but the ability to globally search by program and I think save those searches for new episodes (not sure about that) makes this a home run.
First player that makes me think cutting most of the cord might work.

Love the headphone jack in the remote!

I don't want a smart tv, and I don't want the expense of cable, so this was a perfect option for me to stream to the TV. Previously I streamed through my laptop to the TV set, but it was cumbersome, and sometimes annoying. The Roku is a perfect solution.

Easy to setup, the interface is fast, and I love the ability to use my phone as a remote (makes searching a good deal easier). It makes my internet look decent by the way it handles streaming. Definitely recommend it.
