I own a lot of Apple products and always have. So naturally I used the Apple TV for a few years. Well, since they never integrated Amazon Instant, I recently switched to the Roku. What a difference. There are dozens of channels, it's easy to control with my iPhone, the remote comes with a headphone jack and the interface is user-friendly and visually pleasing. I'm much happier with my Roku than I was with my Apple TV!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I must admit that I love my Roku 3. I thought about purchasing other streaming devices but am glad that I did not. It is extremely easy to set up and use. If I ever cut my cable it will be because of the Roku 3 and the Apps available. My only complaint is that to utilize on other tvs in my house I would have to purchase multiple Roku units.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this months ago, paid an amazing price .. and have been enjoying it ever since. It literally turned the tv in my bedroom which we never used before this into one we use almost every-night, SO worth and awesome because I bought like the cheapest model I think and it somehow reaches my wifi way far away with no issues ever. Seriously the best of its breed, and that's coming from a primarily apple person. Roku is the bomb !!

roku 3 remote craps out time and again

Too expesive to buy a third roku 3. Bought the original roku 2 and then upgrated to roku 3. that played 15 months then volume went and so did remote. purchased roku 3 remote and that could not hold a pair at all and now waiting for Fed ex prepaid ground ups label to arrive by mail. Will then give to fed ex to return to roku for a full credit of total price I paid for the roku 3 replacement remote. No more roku for me.......3 strikes and you're out. too expensive to try to keep replacing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't buy this model

Had to exchange the first one for audio issues returned the second one because this model puts out its own wifi access point ssid it's broadcast inter fears with my home network causes huge interference takes a 50 Mbps network and renders it useless all other devices tablets smart phones laptops lose connectivity and even my tivo started to malfunction removed it from my home reset my network and all is well this is not my first roku I have 4others and no issues

A good incremental improvement

I'm not an expert on the roku, since this is the first one I've owned myself. But like most people, I've had some experience with the device at the homes of friends or relatives. Based on what I've seen so far, the roku 3 is a solid, if incremental improvement. I don't know that it's time to ditch an old roku for this device, but if you don't have one already, this would be a great time to get started. The fact that it's wireless makes set-up easy and well integrated with a wireless house. For me the bonuses of this new roku - the headphones on the remote, the motion sense gaming, the angry birds, are just bonuses (which I enjoy). The real draw here is the access to great media and a slick interface that anyone can operate. For me it's a winner.
Pros: Compact, Video selection, Built in Wi-Fi, Reliability, Great value, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Easy to use
Cons: Need fast internet service

Ok, so, this is the second Roku3 I bought because I work out of two locations and cannot imagine NOT having one available. This little wonder is saving me so much money on cable...I've shut off all my premium channels because there are so many to watch with Roku. I was a little skeptical about how complicated it would be to set up, and should never have worried. It was so simple and explained so well that there wasn't a way to screw it up. Additionally, while I was playing around on the Roku site, I happened to click on the "Chat for Help" link without knowing it. All of a sudden there was someone there to help me...instantly! Love that. So, now, both my Roku's are linked and I have the same channels on both. Get this thing! You will be SO happy with it!
