I bought this several months ago and have used it almost every day. It is simple to operate and would recommend this to anyone who does not have Smart HDTV. You can certainly turn your HDTV into a Smart TV. It is so simple to hook up. I would recommend the higher priced model, you will not regret it!!!!!!!

I bought this about 5 months ago and have been happy with the Roku player. I had one glitch about 3 months out, but talking to customer service resolved it quickly. The service rep was patient and friendly.

A joy to use

Replaced my Wii game console for streaming movies from Netflix with Roku 3 unit. Much easier control functions, much wider selection of streaming options readily available to choose from and connect with. Everything works much faster too. I had an issue with the Wii in which the wireless signal would be lost, regained and lost again interrupting the viewing. This was a big reason why I went to the Roku. At first the Roku did not do this, then after perhaps a couple weeks or so it did and I thought it must be my internet service provider. However, at times it worked great and at other times it cut out like the Wii had done. This became more and more frequent as time went on. Then, one day, frustrated with it I decided to unplug the Roku and restart it to see what might happen. In the process of getting to the plug I inadvertently caused the Roku to be pulled up part way onto my blue ray player placing the Roku at an angle rather than laying flat. And all of a sudden my program loaded up rapidly as it had originally. So I left things as they were and sat back down to watch my program. Don't know why, but for about a week now I have had no problems at all. It loads up quick and does not interrupt with 'loading' pauses during the movies. Love my Roku and will keep it leaning against something at all times from now on.

Tried the chrome caster, would not work with my slow internet. I heard about Roku and thought I would give it a try, good reviews so seemed like worth a try at least. WOW what a difference, connects right up, logs into Netflix and Prime in a snap, streams everything flawlessly and quite snappy in browsing around the menus and loading different services... Very very satisfied with this unit and am considering getting another for my den...
