Absolutely awful!!!

I use Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu. Just today, I was forced to reset my brand new device because all three channels stopped working completely and randomly. Only after resetting the device did the playback start working again. I thought my Roku 2 problems were going to go away with this one but I was SOOOOO wrong. I can't believe I paid $100 for this piece of junk.
Cons: Freezes, Overheats, Playback Freezes, Forced To Reset, Crashes, Unstable Resolution
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this product to replace cable/satellite service and found out that I cannot watch the channels and tv shows that we watch regularly. Specifically HGTV and NESN. , MLB TV blocks your local teams so it is useless to me. Most other shows we can watch for free on the Internet. I returned this product within a week and the company still sends me emails as if I am still using it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this as an upgrade from my Roku 2 XD. Sad to say I am no longe a Roku enthusiast. Lack of Youtube, incessant adverts on the home page, sluggish response, Netflix stalling and laggy nature made me no longer use the Roku. I moved to a Samsung Series 5 tv. Netflix is snappy, Youtube plays and the USB3 interface plays WAY more formats thn the Roku.
Cons: Does Not Improve Audio/Video, Poor Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It worked for four days then would not connect to internet. I plugged in my old roku and it came on without any further adjustments of any kind. The roku 3 is being returned to the retailer.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup

I bought this about 2 weeks ago. I like more options of the apps than the other players. I also own a Appletv. But it doesn't have the ESPN or YouTube app. Which I was wanting the ESPN one to be able to watch it without running cable to the tv I have it on

I got my first Roku 2 XS and loved it ,but I never though it could get even better with the Roku 3 .It's one Amazing device and so much faster,Love It!

Overhyped

While advertise having more than 700+ channels. Most of the more intersting channel are all based on monthly fee subscription. Sure you have more freedom to do what you want with it (for the hippes that think the Apple ecosystem is restricted). I think that's unfortunately Roku's biggest selling point. It's not really wroth it.

Excellent but needs some features

What's good about Roku3: fast, smooth, friendly interface, easy to use, lots of channels, good price, nice design.
What's needed: 1. Setting static IP for better VPN management or even built-in VPN client (there's a humongous market outside outside U.S. that you are not tapping) 2. Miracast (Is it ever coming? Then I would immediately ditch your main rival AppleTV, and also install it in my office to do wireless Powerpoint presentations) 3. Separate sound output (most existing HDTVs don't allow 5.1 pass-through to sound system) 4. Better and more Asian content (again, you are ignoring the biggest market in the world) 5. Add the Cloud IPTV channel (which is currently only available on Android boxes) as well as China's free PPTV.
