I really love it.

Its been working great and I've only had minor issues so far with downloading content, which I think is mainly due to my current modem. I have used the headphones a couple times and my remote batteries have been ok. Overall, its an awesome product.

The Roku. is great lots of variety channels. They need more free content to make it the best. most channels are pay per month just like cable so if you are looking to get rid of your current Subscription weight the options first. I am getting rid of cable and going to Over the Air TV as I don't need to pay the price of Cable..

Freeze,frequently need disconnect to reboot

Have been consistently freezing image and stop responding to any command from the remote. Rebooting remote would not fix the problem. WiFi verified not to be the problem.Only disconnect would make it work again. I have other Roku product (USB stick) that would work better. I will return this device. I also own an older ,cheaper model Roku XD that performes better than Roku 3
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best player available!

I avoided getting a "smart" TV on purpose. I've owned several streaming players (AppleTV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast) and I believe that this is the best streaming player available:
- Hundreds of public channels.
- Thousands of private channels.
- USB port for watching your own ripped movies.
- Doesn't try to trap you into any particular ecosystem (unlike the Amazon or Apple players).
- Headphone jack built into the remote (great for late-night movies while the kids are sleeping).
- By far the BEST interface...very easy to use, even for non-computer-literate people.
- Ability to "cast" pictures from your mobile device to the TV.
- Games like Angry birds and a motion-sensitive remote.
- Hundreds of public channels.
- Thousands of private channels.
- USB port for watching your own ripped movies.
- Doesn't try to trap you into any particular ecosystem (unlike the Amazon or Apple players).
- Headphone jack built into the remote (great for late-night movies while the kids are sleeping).
- By far the BEST interface...very easy to use, even for non-computer-literate people.
- Ability to "cast" pictures from your mobile device to the TV.

I can't wait for the next version...some suggested improvements:
- Add a web-browser channel and the ability to use a BT keyboard.
- Add the ability to record onto USB storage. Granted, this is dependent upon content providers, but there are times when some channels have live events...it would be nice to record those.

Simple to operate

I got my roku about two months ago. Commercial free TV!!! YEAH!! I've only had one issue. Netflix was not loading. A call to the cable company quickly solved it. Unplug the power cord for about a minute and presto! All is well again

ROKU 3 Rocks !!!

We canceled cable TV and love the Roku 3. First, all the channels included and channels to be found online to add to the ROKU 3 is more than sufficient for all your Family entertainment needs. Second, the wireless media streaming from your PC capability of ROKU Plex channel is more than outstanding (could never get Windows Media Player to work for streaming). But, Third, most of all the feature of the built in earphone/headphones jack on the remote control makes the ROKU 3 beat out hands down EVERY other device we looked into. In fact, THAT feature alone was worth the price of the unit. No complaints with the ROKU at all at this point.

I bought the Roku 3 last November. My husband and I decided it was time to "cut the cord" by getting rid of satellite and installing an antenna and getting the Roku. We subscribe to Amazon Prime and Hulu, but I have been really happy and impressed with the free channels you can get through the Roku website. We are much happier with the Roku than we were with the over-priced cable/satellite packages. The remote is very user friendly. We have been so happy with our Roku 3 that I bought the streaming stick for my mom who lives with us for her tv so we can all watch whatever we want.
