I upgrade my Roku 2 to Roku 3 and love the new look and the headphone option. My son uses the headphones always when watching his favorite shows and loves the additional channels especially the addition of YouTube.

no on-off control

I love my Roku with a couple of minor exceptions.
I would like an on-off button. It seems weird to have to pull the plug out of the unit to turn it off. I want to turn it off because it gets warm and consumes a bit of power.
I would love to be able to do email and internet browsing with the Roku, but not a biggie for me.
I have had some trouble linking my roku to a couple of the sites for quicker access, since I have to run upstairs to my desktop, go to a site, enter a special code. I realize it's for security, and I've been a bit lazy.
I haven't figured out an easy way to enter searches via a keyboard, but I know there is a way; dont' want to have to buy a wireless mouse and keyboard;
Could Roku include an on-screen keyboard for entering seaches like other devices provide?
Overall, love it.

Every time the power goes out, even if just for a few seconds, I have to hard reset Roku and re-add all my channels. I have not been able to find any solution to this (soft re-set does not resolve the problem). Also, I recently received a new Comcast modem that includes built-in WiFi. Roku does not work with this modem and still requires a router. I have not been able to find any solution to this. If these two issues were resolved, I'd be happy with the Roku.

I bought four boxes and between that and an apple tv, covers all televisions in my house. I use a digital antenna for the local stuff. I stream hulu plus, netflix and amazon prime along with plex and a few odd and ends channels (my wife uses the yoga channel and a few others). I dont miss cable.....at all.

I returned my Roku 3. The unit would constantly lose the TV's resolution setting requiring either a rebooting of the unit to clear the error or an accessing of the Roku's settings page to toggle the resolution from one setting to another and back again. The audio would intermittently warp slower - like playing a 45 record at a 33 speed; to clear this condition the Roku needed to be rebooted. Research indicated that these issues are not rare - quite a few people experienced the same problems.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got the Roku as a gift and I am planning on gifting a few to my family for Christmas. It is so easy to set up and I love the remote app on my phone!
