The only device connected to my TV

I bought the Roku 3 to replace my Roku 2 (gave to my mom) and I am very satisfied with the upgrade. I was able to ditch my television service which saves almost $50 month! The device is so simple to install and use (even my mom uses it and she always had trouble with the cable tv remotes). There are so many buttons on a typical remote but the Roku simplifies the entire remote control experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than paying for cable

I'm not really passionate about tv and movies and it's not important to me that I see them the second they air. I've truly enjoyed watching older series and movies. Love the commercial-free options available through Amazon. Some times movies get interrupted by slow bandwidth (I assume) but not often enough to make me go back to cable. The only complaint I have so far is that I've been unable to find Big Bang Theory.

One of the Best Gifts I Ever Received!

My sister bought this for as a gift, and I love it! It is a cost effective way to watch shows, and movies I love at a reasonable prices. I love the fact that I am also given recommendations based on the shows that I choose to watch. I prefer the Roku to the overpriced cable choices.

It Plays Stuff....

The device is marginally acceptable. I had written considerably more however this application kept bouncing it as it thought i was using bad words. It used the word that sounds like "propane". Even though I DID keep it clean, the censoring portion of the app kept bouncing it, never providing any clue as to what word offended its ultra-sensitive feelings. This was over several attempts. Thus you have these words which are irrelevant to anyone's product review efforts. This high level of propane prevention dropped my rating down in several categories.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works well - mostly paid subscriptions though

We have 2 Roku 3 players, so we obviously like the device. It is easy to setup & easy to use. The main drawback is that the majority of the "channels" require a paid subscription. There is limited availability of free streaming, which is why my rating is reduced. For the functionality, my rating would be a 5 if only there was greater availability of free subscriptions.

LOVE our Roku

We have had our roku player about a month and so far we LOVE it! It's fast, easy to use and has a ton of great content. My young kids even know how to use it to get to their channels easily. So glad we broke up with our satellite provider and made the switch to streaming. Roku made it easy!
