It works well most of the time, but needs to be unplugged now and then. Channels are OK for the most part.

poor performance

I bought this to watch programming I could not get elsewhere. If I could get the programming somewhere else I would dump this Roku 3 box in a heartbeat. It does not keep the program on without constantly dropping out with a screen that says loading, I miss at least 25% of my program due to this "loading" problem. I changed my internet provider thinking that was the problem, but no, same problem on both providers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my Roku 3--in fact, I'm watching Hulu Plus on it right now. I enjoy Hulu Plus and all the free channels. Two channels I already have pay for on cable are available as HBOGO and ShowtimeAnytime--which let me watch all the episodes of series programming. I didn't buy Roku 3 because I was afraid it would be too complicated for me to install, but it was a simple, intuitive process. I'm recommending Roku 3 to both friends and relatives.

Better Than Cable!

With Roku, we don't miss cable a bit! It allows us to watch everything we would normally watch on a computer, on tv with the whole family. It's extremely easy to use and we especially love that we are able to use our phone as a remote!

I had thinking about it for a year before I bought one and glad I did. I also have Apple TV. I did away with satellite TV and dont miss it too much. I already had several internet subscriptions to providers and Roku had the aps so now I can watch them on TV. It is easy to use and worth the investment. I only wish you could arrange the (the channels you pick) channels in the order you want them (most used at the top).

I love the Roku! I have been able to catch up on series that i came in on in the middle and go back to the beginning to find out what is going on (netflix.) I do prefer the cooking shows on regular cable though. There are tons of movies to watch with netflix which I love. We were paying for the premium movie channels with our cable company and there was never anything to watch. The setup was very easy also.
