Saving money with a Roku 3

I got rid of Pay TV and got a Roku 3. I am very satisfied with it. I am only paying for WiFi and saving about $100.00 a month. I do have a subscription with Netflix and I can't possibly watch all that they offer. There are other channels that have no fees that are accessible with the Roku. The best part is I choose what I want to watch, not 100's of channels Pay TV say they offer that are not worth watching or that I have no interest in watching.

Roku has an incredible selection of channels to appeal to everyone. it's easy to set up and easy to use. customer service is available and always helpful.

I was excited to get my Roku, as I have heard so many good things about the product. But was very disappointed that you still need a cable provider for alot of the channels. I don't cable so I paid money for the same thing my Wii did.

I stop working little by little

I loved it for the first two weeks . I really loved the headphone option for late night viewing but then the sound started to fade out and the screen would frezze whenever I pluged in the headphones. Then in order to use it I would have to take the battery's out and put them back in. Then that stoped working and now I just doesn't work anymore. I loved my roku when I first got it. Now I feel like I wasted my money. And I can't take it back . It didn't even make it to four months. What a waste :-(
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love The Roku

We've had a 'Roku LT' for a couple of years now, in a secondary TV location in our home. We liked it so much, we recently purchased a new 'Roku 3' for our main TV viewing area. Even though the Roku is not technically a DLNA device, but rather it is app-driven, the provided apps are very intuitive and do an excellent job of delivering streaming media over our network. The Roku is much more feature-rich than our XBox 360, which we had previously been using as our primary streaming media device. Besides the myriad of available Internet apps, Roku also provides media server apps for PlayOn and Plex. Roku also has their own media server app, which provides a further alternative. So whether you're streaming from Hulu, or your own computer's hard drive, the Roku is small, easy to use, has a smart and pleasant user interface, and is an all around powerful and awesome little appliance.

Befor my Roku 3 , I just watched very few shows on TV which was on one channel, the reason for just one channel is, I hate to flip channels.... After I got my Roku 3 an I got my netflex acct working I have watch movies off my netflex every night up to 2 movies a night sometimes 3! I don't get much sleep these days but I have enjoyed being able to watch movies in the comfort of my home an b able to pause when needed.. I have cruised around on th other channels but have chose to just have th one acct "netflex" instead of several movie accts. I feel there is a large selection of channels an I love that. I truly think I could do without having the expense of cable, just waiting for th contract to end!! I have bought th Roku stick as we'll and think that it is great as we'll, it's hidden an there is no box or wires showing.. Overall, I think this is a great addition to any home. I think the Roku customer service is helpful. I had problems with setting my netflex acct up, I called netflex was on th line for 45 mins they couldn't figure out why my password wasn't working so th next night I called Roku customer service I explained what was happining an he walked me through everything an they were able to fix the issue an haven't stopped watching Netflex movies!! I recommend buying the extended warranty just so that you have the piece of mind knowing you have them to call if any problems you can't figure out... Oh yes one more thing I love that I can pair my iPad or iPhone to the YouTube channel an do my workouts on the big screen..... Hooked on ROKU** Off to watch a movie or work out!!!!!

I have two, a Roku 3 and a Roku 2. My friends helped me to buy them. They totally love Roku too. I tried the streaming stick first, but it wouldn't work. So dont give up if you buy the streaming stick first with poor results.

I bought this for my mom so that she could use Netflix. I gave her, her own profile so now our movie likes/dislikes do not get mixed up.
