Bought the first iteration and it was okay but the generation 3 unit is outstanding. Picture quality is first rate and the accompanying sound quality put Comcast to shame.

This is a "One stop shop" device for those of you who movies and shows via internet streaming. After you activate your device, you can go on the website and add additional channels to your device. Roku offers so many other channels, some are free and some you have to pay for depending on the streaming site, just like if you have a paid subscription to Netflix or Hulu. I don't like sitting at my computer and watching my movies. I can just sit back in my favorite recliner and watch all my streaming shows. I love love love my Roku device. To the maker of the Roku device...YOU ROCK!!!

I have had my Roku for a few months now and I am in love. I will never go back to cable with their high prices again!! I love to be able to watch shows when I want to watch them. Very easy to use from installation to watching shows. And this is a one stop deal- watch TV, listen to music, or play video games.... and so on!! I highly recommend this for anyone that is tired of paying those high cable bills to watch just a few of the channels.

have had one of every model and they just keep getting better. All are still working with no problems. So many channels and the options just keep growing. So easy to set up; in less that 5 minutes you are exploring channels.

This will be the best $$ you have spend on t.v. entertainment forever. Minimal or no commercials depending on what you watch.. Super easy for my retired computer illiterate husband to install and use. Take it camping or anywhere you can access internet. A great way to watch all the series shows like SOA and Breaking Bad in their order,etc.. I can't say enough about how happy we are!

Small, multil options but ultimately disappointing

Received as a gift, I like the size and the options but navigation is very cumbersome and streaming is much slower than with my X-Box. I am disappointed with the speed, or rather the lack thereof. Many options but forced to drill all the way down to determine if it's something I want to see or not, then slow to load and slow to play. If I unplug the Roku and plug my Xbox back in, speeds are perfectly fine so it's something inherent to Roku that creates slower response times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
