Good screen layout...

The 3 is my second Roku. I like the enhancements and the ability to get more channels. The "search" feature is a little lacking... the headphone/ear bud function is a battery eater. The headphone feature needs to have a function where it does NOT mute the TV. I am heard of hearing but my wife is not. This options needs an option to toggle the TV on or off while the ear buds are being used..... also Hulu Plus does not offer closed caption on many of its programs. This is a real downer . The things I don't like are mostly not the fault of Roku.

I've had my Roku 3 for a little over a year and LOVE IT! The thought of no longer paying for cable service for the rest of my life is elating!!!
Ever person I have the opportunity to discuss anything related to a TV show or even a commercial is my opening to make new converts to Roku! My children tell me I should be your spokesperson because of my enthusiastic recommendation that I express for them to buy a Roku.

Performance and Features

I have had a Roku 2 for several years now and decided to get a 3 based on my experience with my 2. Roku 3 is faster as advertised, and so far everything else as advertised. I am using it in my wireless network and am still using the 2 in the room I keep for the grand kid's, they run it like crazy and it still plays on. If I needed another Roku, I would buy one in a minute. What can I say.

Changed our viewing routines

I bought this in May of this year to watch a religious program that our local station had moved to a different time (I'm working at the new time). The programmer advertised that all of their programming was available on Roku. I had no idea what Roku was; so, I checked it out. It appeared to fit our needs, so I bought one. Wow! What a difference! Not only is their program available to watch, anytime, the programmer has so much more material available for Roku users. The main advantage for my wife and I is that we no longer have to watch these programs on our 17" computer monitor, we can watch them in the comfort of our living room. Another advantage is being able to view repair videos on YouTube. Seeing the video on a larger screen allows me to see some of the details that escaped me on the computer monitor. And channels! The number of channels is astounding, way more than cable or satellite offerings. Our son has Apple TV, and fortunately, our Mac OS is to old for Apple TV. Had we gone with Apple TV, we would have missed a lot of the things we now get on Roku, which works fine with our outdated OS! Roku is a wonderful product!
