Much sleeker than my previous Roku

I'm glad I switched to the Roku 3, although it does have fewer connection options for older TV's. It crashes on netflix start up sometimes, that's why it lost a star.

Worst ever!!

Ive had nothing but problems with this. It keeps disconnecting from my internet for no reason what so ever. My internet wasnt having any problems because my other device was working just fine. It also freezes alot and the remote half the time doesnt work. Bad invest!! Switching to apple tv!

I've had my Roku 3 player for about 3 months now and I'm very pleased with the quality of the service. It's very reliable and streams content consistently. I recently had a need to contact Roku customer service via chat after having a new Comcast xfinity dvr installed. Service was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Issue was quickly resolved.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like my Roku, but Vudu app needs improvement

I like my Roku 3. The main draw for me was it inclusion of Amazon Instant Video and Vudu. I still feel that Apple TV has Roku beat regarding overall UI design. Amazon and Netflix seem to work well, but Vudu needs improvement. My Vudu rental kept buffering every 5 to 10 seconds even when streaming in SD mode. I have a high speed downlink, and the Vudu app on my Smart TV streamed the HD version of the movie with no problems at all. Roku needs to be a better job of ensuring consistency across their apps

Great device, Same money pit as any other "pay TV"

Easy to set up. Easy to navigate menu. NO power button, it's ALWAYS on! Why? Minimal channels with "free" (comes with commercials just like Hulu) programming. You can pay to have the programming without the ads. Channels with anything close to current, you must pay to enable. Seems to be a common theme, anything worth looking at costs you another fee. I'd guess if I paid for all the channels that are not dependent on a "subscription" like cable, satellite, or uVerse I'd be paying the same each month. Not what I would call a deal. There are options for channels that do depend on a subscription, those are free but still require you pay for the subscription.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have watch almost zero regular tv since I bought my two roku's. the only exception is the tv in the basement. The wireless signal won't reach that tv and it is not a smart tv anyway. but if you like variety good old movies, Warner Archive, good mysteries the Acorn is it. New channels quite regularly but I noticed, in my opinion, way too many new religious channels of course you don't have to choose them for your list. But overall a great way to have entertainment.
