Best Thing Ever!!

I've had my Roku for about a year. My husband and I both like watching movies and tv shows. The Roku is able to give us suggestions according to our individual taste's in programming.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too many problems

It is always locking up and needs to be re-booted....about every two days

The Roku replaced another brand which was an exercise in stress every time I tried to use it. Now I can browse the movies easily, click on my choice and watch it stress-free. It's just seconds from the time I turn on the machine to the time my movie is on the screen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Could be improved

I really like the Roku 3. It is reliable and fast. Unfortunately, most of what I view is on Netflix. When one is viewing a movie or series, at the beginning of the credits, immediately the screen goes to the next episode or to movie recommendations. It is difficult to switch to the credits playing in a small window. Sometimes one wants to see where the movie was filmed or what music was played, or gasp, review the cast. IMDB does not always provide the relevant information. No matter which arrows I press, I often cannot get to the little window. Perhaps this is a Netflix problem; sadly they have never asked for a review.

Best Streaming Network device

I've been a Roku user since the first video device was launched. Each version gets a little better and has more features.
The user interface and the selection of applications sets the Roku above the others.
I've got Netflix capability on my Samsung BlueRay player and an Apple TV. The Roku is far faster and easier to use than the other devices. The only feature that I miss on. the Roku 3 is the capability to connect to Airplay devices such as an iPad.
Other subtle features are earphone support on the remote control and rf and infrared capability so you don't have to be pointing at the Roku. The preview screens for Netflix continue to evolve and beat my other devices hands down!
I'd also like to see streaming of live content from the major networks and cable news providers. (There are apps, but they stream cached content). Once this becomes available, I hope to be able to cut the video portion of my cable subscription and pay for the content I want to watch.

Stopped working the first day

I only gave this a poor rating because it just quit working. I am sure that I will be happy once I get a replacement. My brother has had Roku for years and is more than satisfied with it's performance and features.
