This is for the person who needs a good positive change from the way they watch. Need Netflix or hulu + added to ROKU3 for the best bang for your buck. Told so many friends I feel like the grand marshal. Note close your mind get left behind.

I like my Roku Box and do not miss cable! I got Netflix and Hulu+ and considering now adding also Amazon instant video. With that I will have my favorite shows covered. The only issue is the lack of sports content and that I haven't figured how to easily mirror a PC for free (to watch sports.) Unless you are a crazy sport fan, I would recommend it

This was actually our second Roku 3 purchase. We love them. We have completely done away with our cable services and now stream everything through our Roku 3! Keep up the great work!

Roku 3 - Worth the money

We have had our Roku 3 for about 9 months and are really happy with it. There are plenty of channels to add, including our main one, Netflix. But channels like NowhereTV and Plex allow us to watch episodes of the Conan and the Colbert Report, respectively. There are occasional issues watching these programs, but I suspect they are channel specific, not with the Roku.
There are onlyhree issues I have with Roku. The first is the "free" channels. Roku lists some channels as "free" because the *channel* is free to add (HBOGo, AmazonPrime, RedBox, etc.), but the *content* costs money through either a subscription or pay per view. Any channel that requires payment for viewing content is not a "free" channel just because it is available to download.
Second, Roku requires customers to input credit card information during the setup process. I do not like this as I have no intention of purchasing movies pay per view through Roku. It also makes me nervous that I will accidently purchase something without realizing it (see "free" above). Roku should do away with this policy.
Third, I wish Roku supported is a native web browser. There are some videos that I cannot play through Plex and still have to hook up my laptop to the TV to watch. If Roku ever adds a browser - Firefox please, not Chrome - then I will give that 5th star, but until then its four.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not sure the Roku 3 was worth the extra $$, especially with YouTube available on the 2. Great device, fast, etc. We have both a Roku 2 and a 3, and on both the remote based headphone jack broke after about 4 months making that feature meaningless. Other than that, great alternative to paying for TV!
