No hype.

The descriptions of this player are right on. I bought a Top Brand name DVR player which also promised that I also could receive internet providers. I basically bought it to get ACORNTV without tying up my laptop. You can imagine my chagrin when after going through an arcane process to add an internet address I got a message telling m e that it could not stream the ACORNTV programming.
ROKU got me hooked up to ACORN and other internet providers easily and withut having to have a PHD in internet logic.
I also became acquainted with the many resources and services available.
I love the responsive remote.
Thanks for a good product.

Problematic

I bought this a few months ago, and the sound control on the remote has already stopped working. The button will only allow the sound to go down. It will not work trying to get the sound to go up. Therefore, you can not use the ear bud headphone because you can not control the sound.
The control button for the sound is on the right side of the remote that is held most of the time while using the top buttons to select programming. There are times the remote will not work when selecting programs because the sound button is usually accidently held at the same time due to it being placed in the area of the remote.
I purchase this roku so I could have the remote with the ear bud headset; however, it is a great disappointment. It is not worth the price.

Really enjoy my ROKU

I am doing some expense cutting, so the cable had to go! I am having a great time exploring all it has to offer. I had a few problems with internet connection initially, but that had nothing with the ROKU....it was just frustrating. I've even got a few friends to switch over!!!!

I have used it now for about a month and love it!! Very pleased at the ease of using it and the amount of stations and options I have. In fact I am buying another for my daughter.

Awesome features

My first Roku was the Roku 2 and it is an awesome addition to the living room. It really has more to watch than the regular cable service. I bought the Roku 3 for its features of motion play gaming, earphones and the faster processor for the high definition television its connected to. I wish I had a Roku is every room with a television!
