Alternative device that will save you money

A device that can help reduce your monthly cable bill. Leasing equipment from your cable company can be costly each year, especially, a waste of money to those rooms that are rarely used. I have a spare room that is turned into a playroom for my daughter and with this Roku 3 I was able to provide my daughter with her favorite shows while saving money each month on my cable bill. Why lease paying their high fees when you can get a Roku 3?

I wasn't sure of this type of service. Now I'm so glad I tried it and use it more often
than I use my other electronics. Roku is a joy to have.

When I realized I never watched but three of the 120 channels I was paying for I cancelled the dish and just used the internet for TV. While I could do that it was a pain. Then I discovered Roku!! Awesome!! Roku is wonderful and with Netflix I am set! So easy to set up and use you never need anything else. Started with Roku 2 but now upgraded to the Roku 3. My two sons also have Roku 3's and Netflix, no paid cable service, just internet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to set up and easy to use

I love my Roku 3!!! I'm not real tech savvy but I was able to set it up in a matter of minutes and was off to explore the many channels available. I "cut the cord" with my cable provider. I simply use an antenna (rabbit ears) to get my local TV stations and I use my Roku 3 for everything else I want to watch.

Easy to Use

I've had this for a couple of months and find that it is great and easy to use. My son got me a different a device for Mother's Day but I wound up giving it to him -- too many steps to get to where I wanted. I like this device because even though it is internet based once you get it setup it acts just like my remote for my TV and seems more like an extension of the TV and therefore something I'm used to!

My number 1 reason for getting this unit was the cost and the extremely low power consumption. I am trying to live off the grid so every watt of power counts. Only uses 2 watts of power in stand by and 4 watts of power when you stream. The programming you get from the supplied "channels" is pretty good. Plenty of free content and you can buy channels fairly cheaply if there is something specific you're looking for. I get all my news directly from the free news channels that come with Ruko. The news coverage is actually better than I get from cable service! Add in Netflix, Amazon or Hulu steaming services and you have it made. Well worth the money!
