I hate having to enter a code to link every channel, and can you add on the website the channel codes so we don`t have to look them up like a list format, and can we talk about the shape of the remote please. The remote is rounded so it doesn`t lay flat when you set it down, it`s also to small, and it`s very smooth so it`s slippery and slips out out your hand easily, can you please work on the design of the remote, thank you.

I had gotten my Roku3 by suggestions from others who had it since cut-back on their cable subscription and C/NET reviews of it and EVER SO GLAD I listen to both recommendations! Easy to set-up, the availability of apps and streaming sites are truly amazing and keeps updating with new ones. Nicely designed, curved box and easy-to-handle remote....YES YES thank you, Roku, for saving me $$$$ from my cable-provider and making watching TV all more enjoyable now! ;-D

Magic box!

Verified Purchase:No
This thing is amazing. It's smaller and lighter than a piece of pizza, but still fast — doesn't feel pokey or slow like an old smart phone, or most other set top boxes. I'm big in to this stuff, and I have two basic tests for HD playback capabilities: 1. HBO Original Series intro, where it's all staticy / snowy. 2. BBC's Planet Earth, when it shows like a million birds at once from space. This thing can stream both, crystal clear at 1080p over wifi. It's great.
Pros: Compact, Easy to set up, Plex, Video selection, Reliability, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Great value, Easy to use

ROKU 3 cover 99% of our needs
on March 14, 2013

We have used Roku 2 for 95% of our TV viewing, with most of that revolving around HULU Plus and Amazon Prime. We also love Newscaster, CNET, AllRecipies, NASA, Pandora and a variety of tech channels that keep you up to date with the latest gadgets. There is also a channel that teaches you magic tricks, which is fun for when you are out with friends. The new ROKU 3 setup couldn't be easier and the new interface is superior to the previous ROKU 2. The new layout is much more efficient for browsing / finding new channels, as you can select specific categories, and you now see about 9 channels at a time versus about 4 with the old system. The interface is just plain nice. The new search feature is great, also. You can type in a movie or TV show and it will search the entire database of ROKU to show you which channels the movie / TV show is available on. You can do the same thing if you want a bio on an actor / director. A complete list of their movies comes up, and a link to which channels is showing them. Great stuff! A few people that I work with have purchased a ROKU, based on my experience, and they are very happy with it. The biggest complaint we have is the lack of NFL Network and the somewhat limited video file support of the box. Overall, this is a fantastic product that is priced right. It has an incredible number of channel choices that should satisfy even the most discerning viewer.
Pros: Reliability, Easy to use, Great value, Compact, Video selection, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Easy to set up
Cons: Usb Video File Support, No NFL Network

We Cut the Cable Cord & Their Monopoly!
on April 11, 2013

I wish we'd known about Roku years ago. Our ROKU 3 has utterly replaced cable TV in our household. We have finally cut the Cable TV Cord and ended their home entertainment TV monopoly. Possibly forever. We used a wireless bridge and LAN connected our Roku 3. We never have any entwork issues or buffering and we haven't tried ROKU 3 on a strictly self-wireless basis. While there are some pretty cruddy apps offered on the Roku 3 -- the number of actually useful and desired apps on the Roku 3 is staggering. No more paying exhorbitant monthly bills for 1,000+ cable channels when we only ever actually watched a tiny fraction of them. And the kicker for us -- no more finacially supporting cable TV networks that we find repugnant and would never ever support -- if we actually had a choice! Now we do have a choice! Many choices, in fact, in one tiny device that gives us complete control over everything in our home entertainment center. Much of it is free. And -- NO COMMERCIALS! For the most part anyway. Most 'Free' services are ad supported but they're brief ads and very few in number for the most part. It depends on the specific app and what they offer. But if you're unsatisifed with any app whatsoever -- simply just remove it! Eazy Peazy! Roku 3 was super easy to set up. It is super easy to use. The picture and sound when offered at super-HD and 5.1/7.1 surround by the app service provider looks and sounds amazingly good. They do deliver 'Super-HD' and Dolby 7.1 surround on our 65" Plasma and Bose sound system. We play home videos and personal music files on our Roku 3 all the time too. This little Roku 3 device truly is pretty darn slick. We all love it!
Pros: Improved Audio/Video, Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
