Much improved

I am very happy I bought this to use in place of the Roku 2 XS. The extra processing power makes this one effortless. One noteworthy improvement is when you are using a receiver or processor/preamp with HDMI it doesn't need resetting to get the video to be seen. This effect did not affect the gui itself on the old XS but was a pain. The 3 has none of these issues, works every time I switch my processor to my Roku 3.

Most of what this does is already on TV's. Can also get other products that do the same thing for much cheaper. All of the "free" channels either charge for their content, or all the channels that are really free have the same shows and movies
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We initially bought the ROKU (original), which still serves us well another television set up for the kids. We bought the ROKU 3 for faster streaming in our living room and main viewing area. We love them and have recommended them to others.

Much Faster than Roku XDR!

I've had a Roku for 5 years now. The first one was a Roku XDR and it worked flawlessly. It was very fast when it came out and had way more channels than was ever expected. It still works great! My Dad uses it every day. Upgraded to Roku 3 in January '14. This Roku is more than 3X faster plus I really like the headphone jack on the remote. It automatically mutes the TV right when you plug in the headphones. This one will stream even the worst and slowest sites like HBOgo. Phenominal product!

I have had my Roku 3 for about one year now. I love every aspect of it. It steams beautifully from all of my subscriptions. I love the variety of providers available, for example, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney and many more. LOVE, LOVE it!
