I had an old roku but upgraded to the 3 and I'm glad I did! Great features and works like a charm. Better than paying for cable and there's nothing ever on that u want to watch.

Bought the Roku 3 last April after seeing it at my son's house. I had been thinking about getting away from cable/satellite TV. I had been using the online features of our blue-ray player but the interface was not smooth and left a lot to be desired. Once we got the Roku my family found it easy to use and was what we need to finally cut the cable. In May we bought a second Roku 3.

Works fine until HDCP Unauthorized pops up.

This is a known problem with this unit. With my 2010 Sony XBR TV I get this message often which renders the Roku 3 unusable. Changing HDMI cables makes no difference. Powering down the R3 helps sometimes. I gave it up and went back to the sony for my downloads.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Superior Technology

My mom has a smart bluray Samsung player in her room. She loves Netflix. The Samsung player would continuously fail to stream movies regardless of the time or show selected. Purchased a Roku 3 and it's been a much better experience. In addition, Roku has continued to add channels making the experience even more enjoyable for my mother. Great technology.

This product is WOW!!
I bought the ROKU-3 just to test it out but end up buying another one, I was hooked to this system from day one. It is easy to setup and has far more content (channels) than any smart TV or other devices like AV receivers, Blu-Ray players, you name it. The remote with the headphone jack for private listening is a very good solution for late night watchers that doesn't want to disturb the entire family. Several of my friends followed the same direction and got it too. I love this device, it's just excellent.
