My third Roku. One in every room. Very fast and love the headphone jack. Dumped cable two years ago. Why would anyone want anything but Roku??

Fast Connectivity

I bought the Roku 3 because I needed a means to access Aereo. Turns out Aereo didn't work for me because I got a much better picture through my roof antenna, and more channels. Even though I canceled Aereo, I am very pleased with the performance of the Roku 3. In particular, with the access speed when connecting to Netflix. It is much faster than accessing through my smart TV and/or Blu-ray player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this months ago and can not understand why I did not do this years ago! My cable bill went down by $60+ bucks a month and I don't have to deal with ANY commercials!! I can see entire series on my own time (without commercials!). I get movie recommendations so I don't have to even look for movies, they are right there in categories ready for viewing!! Its a no brainer $8 bucks vs $60 and no commercials!!

Great little box, but missing key content

I've had the Roku 3 for several months now. Roku has packed a lot of functionality into a very small package. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. The universal search functionality is also very handy. The remote is comfortable and doubles as a controller for some games.
Roku provides access to all of the major movie and tv providers including NetFlix, Hulu Plus, Vudu, and Amazon Prime. There are also plenty of niche channels for almost any interest you can think of, although the qualify of the content from these channels can vary wildly.
My biggest complaint against the Roku 3 (and the reason I don't use it more), is because of the lack of YouTube support. Every other device on the market, including similar boxes, dvd players, and smart tvs, support YouTube. Roku does not and it leaves a gaping hole in their content. Solutions such as Plex and Twonky have appeared to try to allow you to stream YouTube to Roku from other devices, but it is clunky to do so. I bought the Roku hoping that they would resolve whatever issue they had with YouTube, but so far it hasn't happened and does not seem like it ever will.
In summary, the Roku is a great device and for those who subscribe to the major movie/tv services or those with niche interests, this device is a great value. However, for those like me who watch a lot of YouTube content, the Roku is not the right device, which is a shame.

Are very happy with our decision to purchase the roku3. it is especially convenient for people that live in remote locations and cannot get cable TV. For the money we paid you cannot go wrong.

I love my Roku

I bought this back in September, and love it. I am using it for my Aereo, and it is saving me about $40 per month. I also enjoy all of the other channels, like TEDx, Plex, NetFlix and Amazon, and have used the Roku to finally cut the cord. My one issue with it is with the remote. It will suddenly quit responding, and then will start working again. I am not sure if it's a BlueTooth thing, or an issue with my specific remote. It also does not have YouTube, but I got around that by using Twonky Beam.
