Works great

After dealing with frequent buffering issues with my older model Roku and a dsl connection I bought the Roku 3 and switched to cable internet and I haven't had to deal with buffering since. Recently I bought a "smart tv" and I learned quickly that the TV's streaming capabilities are lacking in a big way. I then went back to using my Roku 3 connected to my Marantz receiver to the TV and there have been no interruptions since. The only complaint I have with the Roku 3 is there isn't an optical audio output on the player.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A frustrating experience

This is my second Roku device. I had previously owned and used the original Roku model, but upgraded to take advantage of some of the newer streaming features. I have had lots of problems with this model, all related to internet connectivity. I tried using the wireless mode, but the connection gets dropped and the streaming stops. The wired mode is not much better. The two apps I use most (Pandora and Spotify) will stop working, and trying to get back to Home doesn't work, so the only solution is to physically unplug the Roku so it will reboot...which is a real pain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast interface

Have been using the Roku 3 for about a month and am impressed with the ease of access. Dumped all my music on a usb and the Roku has no problems accessing the files. Would have like to have the micro SD slot usable for storage as well.

Same great picture and sound but with a headphone jack on the remote. The unit comes with earbuds but the remote will power an over the ears headphone without issue. I never thought I would use the headphone jack but I use it quite often when outdoor sounds like lawnmowers or kids at play start to get loud. The layout on the remote is much more natural to use.

Roku is great t get rid of your ever increasing cable bills. You can always find something to watch and more channels are becoming available every day.
