Great buy for your buck

This little device has thrown me for a loop, as a rule things out there are just a BIG head ache waiting to happen. This item is the best streaming device, even better than my wired / wireless Blue Ray player and even faster. Also, the remote is a wee and a pointing device to play online games like Angry Bird. I plan to buy one for every room that has a TV. As soon as my wife learns to use it (very simple to learn) I'll have to stand in line just to use it. I would have given this a 10 star but that wasn't an option. Added comment: The price caught my eye and the ease of use is very impressive. Its speed has topped any computer. I just don't see how they put all the needed parts into such a small device to get it to work this well.

effective upgrade

wanted to be able to get Youtube so I had to upgrade. Like the ability to link my laptop but would prefer using a wireless keyboard direct to the Roku.

I love the Roku gave it a 4 star just because if you use the headphone jack on the remote it runs the batteries down in the remote. Other than that works great.

Perfect in every way but one - no parental controls - if Roku were to add this they would improve sale dramatically - other than that I highly recommend this device to anyone older than 18!

Small, Portable, Fast, Easy to use!

When the original Roku (N1000) model was released years ago, I was one of the first to purchase it. Since then, my family and I have enjoyed the Roku device immensely. Recently, I upgraded to the Roku 3 and am extremely satisfied with the Roku. It's small, portable and easy to use. I will be a long-time Roku user.

easy to use but limited content

Easy to stream Roku specific content, but not much else. Cannot stream web video that is available for viewing like network shows (from ABC, A&E etc.). Some interesting Roku apps that are subject specific like old radio shows, talk radio, old drive-in movies etc.. No web browser (a biggie for us). Lots of stuff on Netflix and others to watch if you can think of the title to search for, but total content not viewable to browse like on a laptop. Wireless receiver sensitivity only so-so. Will wirelessly stream best video quality only if close to router. Much better (higher resolution) picture with a wired ethernet connection than wireless, even with our excellent rated, video streaming optimized LinkSys router. If the Roku limited apps are enough for you, the Roku's tiny size and ease of use make it very convenient.
