Fantastic for Streaming Videos from Home NAS

My Roku 3 is the absolute best client for streaming video from my home NAS, using Plex, that I have ever seen.
It also seems to work very well for streaming videos from Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Simple set-up and use

I got this as an alternative to cable and dish. This is very simple to set-up and use. The variety of programming is quite amazing. For the cost of one month of cable I have quality programming that is not controlled by a "package" deal.

My son suggested we try this device, so, I placed the order and glad I did. I had never seen a Roku so I was surprised at the size of it. The instructions were clear and so simple to set up I thought this isn't going to work. But, I turned it on, got the remote attached, and was amazed at the products available. My wife and I use it every day, usually streaming something instead of watching available cable programming. Great product.

My favorite streaming device

I use my Roku's (I have several) to stream video from my Plex server which stores my collection of DVD's and Blu-Rays. Also for streaming Netflix over the internet. It does it's job well. Any problems are in the source and network serving the content.
There is a lot more to this device than the casual user will discover without some research.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We purchased ours about a 6 months ago and like it to a point.. It seems that all of the hubbub in the ads doesn't say that the services available are mostly pay services. Although there are a lot of free stuff. I am most impressed with Pandora. It is for music and cannot be beat. Lots of surfing needed to find out what is and is not a paid service.
