Excellent product! My DSL connection resulted in allot of buffering when watching Netflix - Roku 3 solved my problem - No more buffering!!!!

I bought the roku 3 about a month or so ago and my wife really likes it. We have it on our main TV in living room. We got rid of expensive U-Verse and needed a network streaming device. I almost bought the Chromecast, but decided on this one because of all the extra features. The remote that comes with the Roku 3 one has a head phone jack on it, which is perfect for my family because my wife can watch TV and hear the audio through the headphones while she is sleeping our baby on the recliner. Also the remote control does not need to be pointed to the Roku, as it used wifi direct instead of line-of-sight radio frequency, meaning you can put the Roku in a hidden spot, like behind the TV. We only subscribe to Netflix and the Roku 3 does runs it nicely. You can either have it connected to a network cable or through your wifi. Ive used both and they work flawlessly. I bought the Roku 3 instead of the Roku Stick because of the boasted better performance, and other extra features. There is only two thing that I dont like that the device does. The first thing is when you are setting up the account online on your computer, it asks you put in credit card information for future purchases, I dont like that at all as I dont need to purchase anything as I'm already suscribed to Netflix and will not be using it for anything else. BUT, you can choose the, "Skip for now" option and not have to use this feature. The second thing is I'm not sure why it happens, but every once in a while since I bought it, the product seems to get like stuck or frozen, and we have to disconnect and reconnect the power cable as the device/remote has no power buttons. I'm thinking it has something to do with updates it receives, and maybe needs a reboot. This has happened twice since we've had it, not a huge issue as our Roku3 is easily accessible and boots up super fast, about 4 or 5 seconds.

Roku 3 vs. Roku 1

This is an excellent streaming device that has a lot of streaming apps to choose from. I have yet to come across an app I wanted that it doesn't have. I have mixed feelings on it's bluetooth capabilities. Yes the headphones are nice when wanting to watch tv in bed while spouse is trying to sleep. The downfall to this is that if you have the headsets attached to your remote you will go through a set of batteries about every 2 days. Needless to say that I learned my lesson after buying numerous sets of batteries. I no longer use the headset feature. So in conclusion unless you are wanting this particular Roku player for it's wireless headset feature and are willing to buy rechargeable batteries, do not waste your money on the Roku 3. I have both the Roku 3 and the Roku 1 and they work just the same since I no longer use the headsets. Save yourself about 60 dollars and stick with the original.

Roku 3 is the best streaming device available to date. I am a 58 yr old male with declining hearing but with the included ear buds I never miss a word any longer. The only improvement I would suggest to make this perfect is to be able to listen with the ear buds and the TV's sound source together as an option. This would make it easier for both my wife who has great hearing and me who does not be able to share the best hearing experiences together. KC

I purchased the Roku 3 a few weeks ago to replace a blue ray player that we used to use to watch Netflix and others. I can not tell you how happy I am at the Roku 3 performance! It so much faster and so much more reliable then what we were using before. The Roku 3 is so easy to operate that my 6 year old daughter has no problems using it.

It works very well, however, I would prefer that the power could be turned off without having to unplug it. The device runs very warm, if not hot.
