Product worked as advertised. We purchased it hoping to save money over satellite services, but found that we had to subscribe to services using Roku; therefore we would realize no savings.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

FANTASTIC ROKU

I've had a Roku 3 for about a year now, and it has become an inportant part of how I provide entertainment for myself.I bought it for easy access to Hulu Plus and Netflix, and it has done this extremely well. There are a ton of free and pay channels available with Roku. I use Accuradio and Pandora when I'm exercising or working around the house. I use several channels for watching some of the older TV that I like. I use Roku to watch YouTube and Daily Moition on my TV.There are channels for movie, book and TV reviews. For a one time cost for the Roku 3, it has provided me with countless hours of entertainment.Five stars and three cheers and a 21 gun salute for Roku!!!

I was skeptic about this device, before I was using my LG Smart TV only. I wanted to access my HBO Go account, but my TV does not have that option. I bought Roku 3 and what I surprise, there are a bunch or more apps and it loads faster than my Smart TV Apps. I still use my Smart TV for the apps available because I try to avoid having to use 2 remotes, but I use Roku 3 on another TV or when I want to watch an app not available on my Smart TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good product, BUT

The product seems to work OK.
The only complaint I have is that if I have not used it in a few days, it does
now want to wake up and connect to the local Wi-Fi network. I find that if I unplug
the power and reconnect, it wakes up.

I love my Roku player, after researching my options I decided on Roku and now when I watch TV it's all me. I am in control of everything we watch.

Great features with smart phones and portability

I bought this when it was first introduced. I love how you can use the Roku app on smartphones to play content on the phone on an HD TV. I take it to our rented vacation lake house to show pictures & videos to our extended family! It is great!
