Wow!

We had a Roku XD and it was great. Then a Roku 1 and now a Roku 3. We enjoy this/them much more than the Chromecast. For one, everything we watch is available on the Roku. Two, it has a remote, so we aren't always buried in our phones/devices.

The Cable is Cut!

I've bought two of the Roku 3 units and have been 100% totally happy with my decision to leave the world of Cable TV behind. I'm watching more nowadays that I ever watched on cable for a fraction of the cost.

Upgraded to the Roku 3

I upgraded from the 1st version of the Roku and this unit is very good! Faster! Much better remote! That is not infra red control but instead radio frequency control so you don't have to point it at the Roku unit.
There is only one letdown and I don't know whether this issue has been or can be fixed with a firmware update. Certain popular video file types are not recognized. Hope this can be or has been fixed.

I was thinking of taking it back for a refund until I found the Remote Control app for my iPhone. The remote that comes with the unit really sucks. But the app saved the sale. All the other things it does seems to be fine.

Out of work, need to cut cost

If you have limited funds and can wait to see TV episodes, then you can use Roku channels to save money on your viewing entertainment.

absolutely love it! it a great user friendly, fast and easy set up. Love how I can read and my husband plugs his headphones thru the Roku remote control and we can both have what we want.

Roku 3 works smoothly

I like the overall interface and the fact that it easily works with Amazon and Netflix. I do not use it for any of the games but for someone on a tight budget the games could be a fun thing to have. On very rare occasion I have had it lock-up but the previous generations locked-up much more often. I also think the streaming is much smoother than the previous generations.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was an upgrade for me. I had the 1st generation Roku, and since this is my main source of media, having the speed of the Roku 3 is awesome!
