some things are good and some things are lacking

I run a roku 2 and a roku 3 unit on the same set. the roku 2 goes thru a vhs/dvd player recorder so i can record. the roku 3 is on a separate input on the TV. It is true that there is a noticable and substantial increase in speed and picture quality in the roku 3 over the roku 2 and this is enjoyable. The unit (3) often (at least once a day) freezes up which requires me to reboot by removing the power chord and plugging it back in and waiting for the unit to go thru its cycles.About a 3-4 minute interruption each time. I don't know if this is a design issue or just my unit doesn't function properly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very good video device

We've had this several months and love it. We had a Roku HD before (still have but on 2nd TV) and I like this device better for the full 1080p resolution and the Ethernet port which frees up wireless bandwidth. I do not like how the OK button was removed from inside of the navigation buttons on the remote. I find it to be a pain to fumble for that button after getting to a choice. But, that is my only complaint.

It's awesome and I totally dig it. The variety of channels, the ability to search for just about everything. I don't have a bad word to say about this product. I love it. I'm considering reducing my cable service because I almost don't need it anymore!!!!

I have a smart TV in the house and Roku 3 in Man Cave. So far Roku 3 is the same if not better than smart TV. My brother already bought one because I recommend it!

Great Streaming Device but Wireless Set-up Problem

Extremely fast streaming device with lots of services you can sign up for. Set-up with an Ethernet cable is quick and easy. However, wireless set-up is very frustrating -- and from the online searches it seems that many people have the same problem (error code 014). The fix is simple (disable network pings on the Roku device) so I'm not sure why that's not the default set-up on the device. I had to wait 15 minutes for a chat session to learn how to access the "secret screen" so I could do this. They could've included these instructions in the troubleshooting section of the manual. And the default software doesn't save your router password so when access fails it takes you back to the beginning and you have to re-enter your password. Very frustrating. There are a lot of online conversations related to this topic and none of the "solutions" I found actually work. So now it's working fine -- just could've been much easier if these wireless issues had been dealt with. Five stars for the device, four stars overall because of wireless set-up.
