Like most folks we are moving toward streaming and the Roku has delivered. It does eat batteries however to the tune of about once every 3-4 weeks.

Makes my TV a Smart TV

I have purchased two Roku 3's in the past month. It was easy to set up and I was streaming in a matter of minutes. My kids love accessing Netflix and my daughter has discovered the TV series Lost and is watching all shows. There is lots of content to chose from. The unit is small, takes up almost no room and the remote works really well. I was unable to get Google's streaming stick to work.

I like most of us that own a Roku want to kick cable to the curb. This was my first test. Of all the Internet devices I use (Xbox360, Xbox One, Google TV) this was the fastest, and quickest option. Works just like my "remote" on a normal TV and in some ways better. I find myself not using it more now a few months after getting it because of my old TV habits. Until this thing gets streaming live channels like traditional TV, it's an option and not a replacement in my view. But do not let this review keep you from getting it. I still like it and would buy it again!

slow start up at times

Have had the Roku 3 for 3 months, at time the Netflix will take 20 minutes to load. It may be the Netflix but it still should not take that long to load.

We bought this months ago and have had a great time with it. We had a Roku 2 before this and still use that on our older TV but this one is on our newer HDTV and it is great. The video looks great. Every once in a while it has to update but not so often that is annoying. Lots of channels available. I just wish they had starz channels too.

This product presently occupies the first HDMI port on every one of the televisions in my home and lake front property. Between Plex, Amazon, Netflix and Sling, there's really no need to have any other device plugged in. And they're so inexpensive that getting one for each television just makes sense (yes, even the "smart TVs" and "connected TVs" who's Ethernet port has no cable plugged in).
