Great alternative to pay TV

I cut the cord last month, tired of paying Dish bills for 100 channels I didn't watch. I went with local channels and a DVR. I bought the Roku because there is a TON of content available, much of it very different than pay TV. If you can go with a different alternative for "live" TV (Hulu), Roku gives you more than enough content to round out the time you want to spend in front of the tube.
Setup couldn't be easier, and it ties easily into your Netflix account to give you even more content.
Assuming you can get local HD channels and don't mind waiting a while for the latest movies to come out, get one.

I thoroughly enjoy the option for listening to normal sound but mostly the option to use head phones is a great feature. A dear friend, with hearing aids, cannot enjoy normal sounds but with the head phones can more thoroughly receive more complete sounds.

No good, very frustrating

This unit is worse than the old one we had. It constantly needs to be reset. The remote has drained 3 sets of batteries in a very short period. The headsets stop working for no reason. Very frustrating. I need to get something else. Also, the new style remote is much less user friendly. It's just awkward.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got rid of cable

I bought my Tokyo a few months back and my family and I love it. We got rid of cable thanks to the great apparently like Netflix hulu and the wwe network. Only 4 stars because they need to have a application that you can password protect so my children don't get to see apparently they shouldn't. Also why is there no adult entertainment app?

Great Performance

I purchased the Roku 3 to replace my original Roku. Wow! Roku 3 performs well above my expectations and has great features. I use Roku 3 to mainly watch Netflix content, and this player does great and has great quality when connected to my HDTV. I recommend this player to anyone!

Great Apps

Easy to set up and use. The apps work better on this than any other device I've used. My only complaint is that every app has slightly different controls. I am obsessed with knowing how far into a show I am, in terms of time, and some apps don't let you check without pausing. Especially annoying is that the way to check time on one app will exit the show on another app. And finding out how to check time is a process of trial and error. As of yet, I have found no instructions on each app.
