Have had for about a month and have really enjoyed! Have Roku 3 and Streaming Stick, both easy to set up and GREAT value over cable/dish!!!

So much to watch, so little time!

I purchased the Roku player as my Blu-ray DVD player did not support all of the streaming content subscriptions that I have; after taking a few month to peruse the channel selections, I realize there’s way more than I could ever imagine. If anyone wanted to do away with cable, it’s totally feasible with the Roku player! Hint: the smart phone app is much easier to use than the remote when typing to search content!

I bought this a year ago & now use more than my cable STB. Roku 3 is blazing fast while surfing & changing channels. Loading movies from my media server is almost instant at 1080p, Netflix & Amazon Video are quick as well, limited only by your internet bandwidth. The ability to install unlisted channels is a nice touch too, if interested.

The Future of TV Watching

This is the third Roku I've owned, and I've never had problems with any of them. I live in an apartment where a lot of sound comes through, so the ability to watch tv/movies with the headphones connected to the remote was huge. It means I can watch my action movies as loud as I want at night without having to worry about my neighbors, and catch all the dialogue on my tv shows when they have music playing.
I have a Netflix account, which has TONS of shows on it to keep you busy for quite some time, and I get new episodes of shows the day after they air through Amazon Instant Video. It's true TV on demand. Anything you can imagine, you can find and watch.
I never have problems watching things either - shows look and play on my Roku just as they do with my cable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Connectivity issues!

The Roku device works fine wirelessly when I can get it to connect. Many times I start it up and get no connection. I have to restart the modem/router, restart the Roku move both devices around and hope to get the connection to engage. Took me 15 minutes last night. When it connects, it works fine for a period of time and then after a few days, here we go again. Very frustrating! Would only recommend if you can hard wire into the internet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A co-worker recommended this item to me when I mentioned I was almost at the end of my 2 yr. contract for the dreaded "Triple Play". I explained I don't watch TV; but loved movies, and like him was an Amazon Prime member. He should get commission for his knowledge of this product. 6 months later and I still love it! Love that I can watch from my tv and not on a computer screen. Love all the extras, games, you tube etc. It's a wonderful experience! Really.

User-friendly and great features!

I switched from a Sony media player to the Roku 3 and could not be happier with the Roku! It's far more user-friendly, less clunky, and a much faster product. I debated quite a bit about getting an Apple TV, but felt that the benefits of the Roku outweighed the ability to easily access the three movies I own on iTunes. Extremely happy with the Roku 3 so far.
