I enjoy the look, design, program features, and smooth speed when navigating the features. Only thing though, is I wish the remote had some sort of way to see the buttons in the dark.

Ease for us older citizens to use

We have 2 Roku unites. The first very basic we've had about 3 years and the Roku 3 is about 2 years old. We used to watch Netflex with a WII box but Roku is so much easier we gave the WII away.

Adding a few more key channels would be great.

It is a very good piece of hardware and works very well. However I would like it a LOT better if it would include channels such as Starz Play, Encore Play, and Movieplex Play.

Not very impressed with the content. Everything that is free pretty much sucks with dozens of movies you have never heard of, littered with advertizing, and in poor quality. All of the news channels only show tiny clips, even the PBS channel only shows trailers... Unless you are willing to pay for netflix, hulu, amazon prime, etc... you are wasting your money on this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this is a really great online streaming player.. the only thing is that I don't know why when you wanna see any show or movie the voice go like slow motion.. I always have to go restart the roku. hope they fix this problem

For Me - A great cable replacement

I bought a roku 3 about 1 to 3 years ago (can't remember the exact time) as a cable replacement. For me, I have found it excellent, and a great money saver on content. I say this because many time cable companies force you to pay for channels you will never use, just to get the content you want, and for me, this is wasting money. Roku is very flexible, and unlike cable companies lets you pick and choose specifically which cotent you want, and if there is a cost for content, only play for what you actually use.
When I bought my roku, YouTube, had not yet been added, and that would have been my only frustration. However, since Youtube is part now, the issue is resolved. I also have the great experience of saying much of the Christian programming I would watch on a local OTA, or paid cable channel is available over the internet via roku, such as TBN and many others. There are also a lot of other great channels available for other kinds of content as well. I have several good tech channels, moves & TV, news, and much more, not to mention, the regular streaming services such as Netflix, amazon, vudu hulu plus, etc. All that I use, have peformed well.
Performance of the roku 3 is excellent! I find it to be responsive, very fast to load, for me, content usually streams close to instant. The footprint is nice and small, so it goes anywhere in the setup, and does not require line of sight for the remote to work as it uses Wi-Fi for the remote. The Mobile app has worked well for me, I have it installed on my iPhone 5, and either use it, or the physical remote. Both work great.
In closing, I would most certainly recommend the roku 3 to anyone considering a cable alternative, and the opportunity to save money on entertainment.

So Glad I Broke Up with Cable!

I purchased this a little over a month ago and haven't looked back. I realized that I was basically watching movies and random shows on DVR and paying hundreds a month for cable. So, I leaped. Canceling cable was the best decision. Sure, I am worried my ability to see cheesy Christmas movies on Hallmark will be impacted, but I will likely survive.
