Could be better

It is very unresponsive with a big time lag between the time you enter a command and when it does something. Entering information for pay channels is very slow and cumbersome. Channels are encrypted making recording impossible, even when the programs are unencrypted, as in programs from over the air broadcasts. As this is my first streaming device, they may all be similar.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Each model gets better

This is my second Roku and I couldn't be happier. We cut the cable provider out and now have two Roku's. The headphone jack feature in the 3 is amazing. If my Roku XP were ever to fail (2+years so far), it will be replaced with another Roku.

I also have a Roku 2500. would even go as far as to get a 3rd maybe the stick. But I would like more channels cinema now would be nice. I know that a lot of this out of your hands. Or work with other cable providers which really is out of your hands. Pound for pound Roku is by far the best I see other products like Google chrome which needs an extra component. I am hoping the next one adds voice commands but doesn't mean i would give up if you didn't add it down the line.

Roku Upgrade

I bought this model as an upgrade to one I already had to access current movie networks and have had no problems configuring the unit with my system.

Best Roku yet!

I got the Roku 3 when it first came out and I absolutely love it! It seems to run a lot more smoothly than its predecessors, and it runs more smoothly. The only drawback that I see so far is the lack of compatibility for older TVs (I needs HDMI out of the box).

I've been adding more and more channels each week has just so many different varieties also connected to my hard drive and play my music with the media app hands down this has been the best investment I've made for streaming music games and movies and all media from my hard drive.
