Best thing ever for TV

This is great! From family viewing, Netflix, games, it has something for the babies to the great-grandma.

Could be better

I loved this box when I got it, it is so much faster than all of the others I have. Unfortunately, I did find that Netflix surround sound is dolby digital plus, which is incompatible with the new tv I bought. When I have the device set to surround sound, it creates some sort of issue with the tv, and then none of the sound works properly until I power cycle everything. The was using Netflix through the tv smart apps, but it is much slower, so finally set the roku to just do stereo. It doesn't sound all the great considering I have a nice, wasted, home theater system, but is faster than using the built in tv Netflix app. I wish roku would offer a version of netflix or setting to only allow dolby 5.1 and not plus. THere are plenty of other people online complaining about the same issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had this for some time, and so far it is a very useful product. There is a wide variety of various different internet-based services to utilize, and it is very compact!

Works OK but some problems

I like the Roku 3 for size and convenience. This summer I moved it out to the screen porch, where it seems to amplify the buzzing interference on the TV's attached sound system. It was working fine in the living room without adding to the interference noise. If you can put it in a location with no buzzing, then it's great. I only watch Netflix and Amazon. Most of the content providers aren't that great.

Great Product - Bad Sound

I have had this for several months and it works great...BUT the sound keeps cutting out after a few minutes, then back...like someone is turning the sound off and on...IT IS BAD. I have to unplus and retsart to get it to work correctly. Might not buy again!

Fantastic operation - poor setup

I have over 46 years experience with computers. The specifications were awesome on the Roku and it has delivered flawlessly. Down side is poor setup instructions / procedure. I took first unit back to store because I thought it didn't work. The second unit had same problem and would not acquire an IP address so I put on my network engineer hat - broke out Wi-Fi sniffer, laptop and desktop then read the specs carefully. Deduced how to proceed and successfully setup the Roku.
I feel very sorry for anyone who doesn't have the equipment or knowledge to overcome the hurdles of poor setup procedure.
However the unit is awesome and does the best streaming of all my devices like Boxee, smart TV, tablet and Blu-ray dvd player. Get the unit you won't be sorry!
