Has I've been a little disappointed with the unit. If I'm watching a HD movie I have a 50/50 chance it will crash while running the movie..

This is my second Roku. My first one was the older XD. I loved it so much that I bought the Roku3. This one is absolutely fantastic and has enabled me to say "buh bye" to DirecTV. The clarity/resolution is outstanding. I like that it is dual-band wifi because I can use the 5ghz spectrum and it doesn't get impacted by the baby-monitor or anything else in the crowded 2.4Ghz range. The best feature is designed for us fellow insomniacs; I labeled it as the "spouse pleaser": The headphone jack on the remote! GENIUS! Now I can sit in bed and watch all of my man-movies & shows on Netflix while the wife sleeps in peace. The only suggestion I have is to make sure you unplug the headphones when you're done otherwise the battery in the remote is dead the next morning. Plus, it is a bluetooth remote (genius!) so I don't necessarily have to aim the remote at the box. We take this with us in the car on long trips and use my phone's wifi hotpot and the kids can watch movies streamed (Netflix has a plethora of kids shows). Plus, also great for the hotel room. The device itself is stable, I have had maybe a couple reboots of the device when it locks up. I'll be buying another one soon. Say goodbye to your cable/satellite bills and buy these devices! Huge selection of "channels"/apps. PBS and Netflix are outstanding. AEBN also offers adult content. I really don't understand why there isn't at least one of these in every house in America yet. Super easy to setup. Very intuitive user interface. I even bought one for my baby-boomer parents and they love it.

I cancelled cable TV because of the Roku. There are a lot of free channels; I have something like 300 of them right now. If I have time for TV, I just go through the channels until I find something I like.
I like how they keep on adding channels. That just makes the Roku even more valuable, in my opinion.
Now if AMC put a channel on the Roku and showed current episodes of The Walking Dead, I would be in hog heaven. :)

Horrible audio distortion

I own both a Roku and an Apple TV. Everytime I try to watch or listen to anything the audio becomes distorted several minutes in. (Often at the best part!) I've researched it online. I've found others with the same issue, but no solutions

I have all the streaming gadgets out there today and the Roku has shown to be the best by far so far. I have one in each room now!!

The picture is NOT HD. The channels load quickly, but the picture is very low quality as a program begins to play. Then the picture gradually gets better - but is never as good as HD. Also, the avaiable free channels are pretty minimal. There are quite a few online, but the company has not done their homework in this area. Maybe they're getting a kick-back from the paid channels?

Best TV related decision I ever made. I'm saving a ton of money compared to cable or satellite, Iv'e had both and Roku is far better. Everything is on demand and tons to choose from. I have Roku plus the free over the air digital stations and I'm not missing a thing
