I never knew these existed until about 6 months ago. Best investment I've made in a long time! I bought a subscription to netflix and really don't rent movies anymore. Plus Roku has Vudu and YouTube and even Facebook. It's super easy to set up and I can take it on the road with me when I travel. As long as there is wifi you are good to go!! I love my Roku so much!!

My first streaming device and it's like being in heaven with Roku 3. Dominating with the number of available channels. Great search feature where it shows you all channel options when choosing a certain show/movie. It responds quickly.
Ways to improve: the remote is ergonomic and I love how it wi-fi connects so you don't have to point at the device. But it could be a lot less "goofy" looking. Apple TV and Amazon Fire are much more attractive. Not sure why the device has to be "always on". This must consume power. There should be an option to turn it off. Picture quality is "pixel-y" when the scene is dark even when it's on 1080p. Must be in the way Roku transcodes the video?
Overall, a great product.

I bought this because I did not want to have to lease another box from the cable company to get HD channels in my bedroom. I was pleased to see that it has a ton of free HD programming as well as the very popular streaming service Netflix. An added bonus is some of the games you can purchase for a small cost. I would love to see additional features, apps, games, etc added to the channel store. The only issue I ran into with this device was that the wifi signal from my office was not strong enough to connect to from my bedroom. This was fixed by purchasing a wifi signal booster and now it works flawlessly every time I want to watch anything. The only thing I don't understand is why it doesn't have a power button. Overall though, great device, I got what I was looking for and more.

The Roku 3 works as advertised. I am a avid Korea Drama fan and the Roku 3 supports several Korean Drama apps which allows me the pleasure of watching my Korean Dramas.

Love the headphone jack in the remote. Great improvment in speed and stability overe the 1st generation Roku we bought this to replace.

Well designed but content is mixed

Main criticism: totally app driven. If an app doesn't provide it, you can't get it. This means you can't access a lot of content available to a regular old browser. I still have to plug my laptop into my TV regularly.
Main kudos: experience. The setup, interface and overall viewing experience is excellent. The remote and mobile app all work well.
