Almost perfect; a few issues

We've had our Roku 3 player for almost a year now (I think), and it's USUALLY worked very well. It's not without its flaws, though.
A new feature of the Roku 3 is a Wifi remote rather than IR; this means you don't have to be pointing the remote at the Roku (a plus if you have a crowded TV area, but the Roku is so small that this really doesn't make a huge difference). This means, though, that your own Wifi signal can interfere and cause the remote to be unresponsive -- this happens to us a lot. You usually have to wait it out, but when you want to pause the problem but can't, it can be very frustrating.
Another problem is something that could be an issue with our specific player: every once and a while, the screen starts flickering. This ONLY happens with the Roku, and is solved only with a hard reset (pull the plug out and plug it back in).
I honestly preferred the Roku 2 with its IR remote. It earns a star back for the headphone jack on the remote, though -- this is incredibly handy for late-night TV watching when I don't want to bother anyone else, and it works great. This is almost worth the wifi interference.
I'll still recommend Roku players to friends, but I hope the eventual Roku 4 performs as well as the Roku 2 did.

Very small print and picture boxes

I bought this about two months before you changed the size of the selection format. Now when I look to choose a new movie, I can't read the print because you have changed the format and reduced the size of print. Very disappointed. This is not the product I originally purchased.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great device

This device works great. Fast and does not take much space. Lots of apps. No issues with this except for the remote which would be better if it had a number pad at least. Other than the remote this device is perfect. I dont even have cable/satellite because this device provides all the channels I typically watch.

Cutting the cord

My wife and I purchased a Roku 3 about 1 year ago. We had always had significant cable bills, typically over $130/month. We were very concerned that the programming with Roku wouldn't be enough to keep us happy. I am thrilled to say that with the Roku, Netflix and Amazon Prime, we always have fascinating programming to watch. We have a 5 year old who watches children's programming, my wife likes mandarin language movies and finds them with no difficulty, while I enjoy adventure and thrillers.
All of this has far exceeded our expectations with Roku, and I believe it has the best programming packages of any other option. We have successfully cut our entertainment bill from over $130/month to a little over $15!

Nice but lacks in some ways

Nice player but lacks in some functionality. No voice search like amazon fire and no official AirPlay app exists with this player. Mirracast could easily be supported. Also when using usb the movies need to be in roku format more formats could easily be supported. In general software needs a big update!
