It needs the ability to do the new standards, mkv video, 4k video. It Has To Be upgradeable.

I received it as a gift and l love it. I simply stopped watching cable TV !!
Using my new Roku 3 I watch what I want when I want in excellent resolution and audio. My only complain are: (1) The audio jack on the remote control is very poor. It losses contact and breaks after a while (I am already on my second remote) and (2) The is no audio out (only HDMI) where I would connect wireless headset. This is a very big draw back.

Excellent Device

I've had my Roku 3 for a few months now and it's excellent for streaming Netflix, YouTube and many other channels. It's small enough that I can carry it around and easily switch it to other televisions in the house if need be. Steaming has always been clear and without buffering for me.

Good HD quality with a few more features

Not as user friendly or as fast as ROKU 2, but for HD quality it is good and has more channel options, and features. Have both ROKU 2 and ROKU 3. It takes 3 times longer for ROKU 3 to download than the ROKU 2, and freezes something the ROKU 2 never does

this is my third Roku, two earlier models and now the roku 3. this one is great. finds other channels quickly. the graphics are excellent. Navigating for movies and TV shows and getting info about them is easy.

Best Investment

I decided to get away from cable and satelite TV. My neighbor told me about the ROKU they had, so I researched it a bit. Through reviews and comparisons to other devices, I opted with the ROKU 3. I can honestley say that my wife and I are considering getting another for our other room. Switching from satelite TV to HD aerial TV with the ROKU has been awesome. I know many of the competitors offer similiar devices and access to apps/stations, but the speed at which this little baby connects is unbelievable. I have recommended to a couple of other friends and they are as satisfied as I am with the ROKU 3. Well worth the investment.
