I am using a Roku 3 with Plex to access my media server and it works without problems. The streaming with the Roku is great for HBO Go and Showtime Anytime. Large selection of channels is nice.

#1 - I'll start with the headphone jack - great feature that will please the significant other who may be a light sleeper (unless you shake the bed from laughing so hard at a show). #2 - Huge selection if channels (apps) - I especially enjoy PLEX, Amazon, and Netflix (way too many others) to mention.

We already has a Roku 2 and we knew that we were going to need a R3 since we were ditching cable. We love every aspect of it and would never go back.

Broken Controller

After 3 months the controller broke, I've had A Roku 2 for well over a year and have had no problems, the only reason I got the Roku 3 was so I could plug into the controller with headphones so I don't wake my wife. Now it collects dust. I would recommend just getting the Roku 2.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have this as well as the Chromecast and the Roku I think does a better job with their apps. For example, with Netflix, you can start a program that may have multiple episodes and the Roku will play continuous without having to choose the next episode .
