Nice piece of hardware, but...

I have a Roku 2 and HD (1). I like to watch sports so streaming without frame delay is important. I don't have the fastest Internet. I find it is best to sacrifice some picture quality for a reasonable streaming experience. The Roku 2 can output high-def but also can be downgraded to composite video (480i).
I wanted the Roku 3 because of it's faster hardware. I thought this could maintain streaming that was not jerky. It is faster and the high-def when set to 720p does give me a nice output to my high-def TV. However, at this level of resolution, I get a rebuffing. It would have been nice if the Roku 3 could be programmed to accommodate 480i, either through the HD interface setting or like the Roku 2 with a separate composite cable. This would help aid in a more pleasurable streaming experience. Nice box, just would like one more bell and whistle. Perhaps a future software upgrade could make it so!

Nice device. However I don't understand why Big Bang Theiry isn't available. Also MASH, Three's Company, Golden Girls or even The Ellen Degeneres Show. Can you explain these not being available?

Great, but Surround Sound with some older amplifiers does not work. Also would love to see standardization of the menu's for all programs and a remote that includes either voice search (a la Amazon Fire) or a Qwert keyboard on the back of the remote. Would also be great if Roku could find a way to provide full access to the main network channels. Without Aereo had to go out and buy an antenna to receive local HD channels. Refuse to pay cable and satellite companies outrageous fees for 450 channels out of 500 that I don't watch. Would gladly pay a reasonable fee for each channel. Work on it before someone else beats you to the punch.

Engineering excellence!

I cut my cable in June and have been living with Roko 3 for 3 months now. I am really amazed at the value for your dollar with this device! This is every bit as good as Apple in engineering and simplicity. The best part is the responsiveness of the controls which make it a pleasure to use. Also very easy to use by my wife whomis not as tech savy. Highly recommended!

I've been Roku devices for since the Roku 2 came out and this one is just as good , if not better. I bought it to use with my HD TV. I have Comcast Cable for internet only and the Roku works beautifully at that speed. Keep adding more channels!
