Fast, dependable and intuitive

I had been using a first generation Roku for years, and finally upgraded to that Roku 3 – what a difference! The quality of the streaming is infinitely better, and the interface is fantastic. The search function, that lets you search across all channels, is a best in class feature.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Almost Perfect

This little box is amazing. We bought it after moving, not wanting to have cable tv, and we've never looked back. With Netflix, Amazon Prime, and You Tube, I feel that it is unfathomably better than the TV of yesteryear. If it had a built in web browser, to access the few areas not on channels, it would be perfect.

Good, but TV compatibility issues

As the proud and happy owner of various Roku models over the last five years, I was excited to get the R3 when my XT died a few months ago. The new features and interface are nice, and the remote is really cool.
HOWEVER, I found out the hard way that there is an HDMI compatibility issue between the R3 and certain TV models (in my case a Samsung), where you get an HDCP error anytime you switch inputs between the TV tuner and the Roku. The only way I found to get around this is to go to the Roku menu and switch the resolution back and forth (eg from 1080 and 720 and back), and then go back to the Roku channel you were watching to pick up again.
This is a great pain in the behind, and the only reason I haven't returned the device is that I'm hoping Roku will fix it. Otherwise, I may sadly consider a different product for my next purchase.

A great way to get streaming video

Everything you ever wanted

I bought mine about 6 months ago. Just loving every minute of it. No more buying, renting, longing, borrowing or chasing after someone - movies ever again! Just streaming like a madman with new found wisdom.

How Did I Ever Live Without My Roku??

I think I have owned one of every model of the Roku. I have loved them all until a newer, better one came along. I have bought them for all my family members and handed down my old ones to my granddaughters so they could watch Dora :) I helped my daughter cut the cable when I gave her one. I hope I never have to live without my Roku. The Roku 3 is great, I really like the earbuds!

I can't even travel without taking my Roku 3

I own a couple of "smart TV's" but I prefer to use Roku 3 devices on all of my TV's. It is so easy to use and find so much media content. I don't go on vacation even without it. I wish Roku would partner with TV manufacturers and provide the "smart feature" in them.
