This is the best Roku player I have had yet. Lots of channels. It works fast. I use my Logitec harmony controllelr with it and no problems.

Replace your TIVO

I bought the ROKU because TIVO has very poor customer responsiveness. The streaming ability is the primary reason I purchased this unit. It is much easier to use than the ChromeCast and much more reliable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for streaming

I love my new Roku. It gives me access to content that I can't stream from my Tivo Romeo, such as my Fios on-demand channels. This product would be perfect it they added apps for Starz, Cinemax and Encore, as well as the Fios TV On Demand app.

My third Roku player...

I would hope my case would be the exception.
My remote died within a couple months of purchasing the Roku 3. I bought a replacement.
The Roku, itself, works fine, although, in my house, I have to use an "Amped Wireless" booster / repeater for my Internet signal. The repeater works flawlessly with my computer network setup.
The Roku can "see" it but, for some reason, can only log into my main internet wireless modem whose signal is extremely weak in the living room due to the age of the house, the plaster walls and the wire behind the plaster.
I can get 5 out of 5 bars on my computer using the repeater. I can only receive one bar on the Roku trying to get the main modem signal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fair for the price.

When it comes to the changing world of entertainment, the Roku stands to give customers an economic edge. The way that it connects people to content is efficient, to say the least. Having said that; the software and content available is dim, by todays standards. No 3D support, channels that are full of bugs, and an operating system that crashes randomly, are just SOME of the problems you run into on a consistent basis. Not to mention that the motion sensor in the controller constantly drains power, and has a terribly inaccurate accelerometer. But, it's fairly cheep and not proprietary, so I can't complain.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pretty good most of the time

Sometimes I get better streaming performance from my macbook. The Roku should be immune to the detailed problems of the streaming providers, but often times I cannot use Roku for Netflix or Amazon, they just hang up, but my computer has no issue.
