Far better than Apple

I own two Roku 3's. I first became aware of the system visiting my Sister who owned a Apple. The Apple was too small and kept getting lost and didn't offer many features. I bought the first Roku 3 and found it a great device, many features and very comfortable to use. The only negative is the lack of a manual to help discover all the features and how to use them. Using the Roku as a media player is a little tricky, but a nice addition to the flexibility of the device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased this for me and my wife to get new channels and stream movies after friends highly recommended it. I was hoping to get some special interest channels with no luck. The first night it froze and all the channel icons vanished and I had to unplug to restart the roku,Strike one. I wanted hbo go and children's channel etc. most channels I was interested in was not supported by my internet provider,Strike two. The Several channels I watched that we're actually free we're a major let down. Worse quality than YouTube channels,Strike three. Having to log on and create accounts for basically every single channel very annoying strike four. Hacking to pay for decent channels ,major strike 5. I already pay for cable and internet so it's dumb to pay again.
I returned it the next day being left majorly dis,appointed. I feel that it's fine if don't have cable which would make it useless .if you don't have a tv or blu ray that will stream ,which mine does it might be ok. Again mine does so netflix hulu vudu I can already do. Me and my wife both agreed it was just a waste of money. Might have been a good product in the pre days of smart players ps3's or smart tv's. I really wanted to like the product and went in excited but came out really let down.
Bottom line buy a smart player or smart tv and it will be much simpler.
Should I have gave it more time ,not sure but I wasn't impressed the short time I used it.

So far it is THE BEST

I had Sony,which was good. I still use it with my home server, I have Google Chrome,which is better for playing You Tube directly from tablet or phone. I also have Roku 3 Which is THE BEST. I am very happy with Roku 3 not only because iit is all I needed, more so, because I am not a rocket scientist and I only need one finger to operate it. Couldn't get any better than that.

Bluetooth and Wireless Earphones on A Great Device

I bought a refurbished Roku 3 because I needed a quality streaming device a good price. I haven't been disappointed with my purchase in the least. The Bluetooth is great but the wireless earphones are the real reason to buy the Roku 3 if you want to watch shows and movies without disturbing your sleeping spouse.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A total lifesaver (and money saver too)!

We decided to try Roku since it had more channels than AppleTV, and once we had it, we were hooked! We dropped cable and kept our high-speed FIOS internet, and I don't think we are missing too much whatsoever!
Before Roku, we used our Blue-Ray DVD player which was soooo slow to navigate. When you have a 3yr old, waiting is a bit of a problem. Our little guy "needs" to watch his shows (oh, did I tell you he can easily navigate the channels all by himself???) He, finds his shows, and watches them over and over. Being an Apple household (we have 6 macs, 4 iphones and 1 ipad) we could have got the AppleTV but it really doesn't compare to the Roku! Awesome integrations with PLEX made watch home movies and ripped movies a snap - now our kidlet doesn't scratch/damage our DVD's since he can watch all his shows either through PLEX, HULU or Disney Channel on demand! It's really been a lifesaver for us!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Really Fast!

I've been using my first generation Roku since they were introduced. I always loved it, but it finally just didn't work well anymore. I thought about the Amazon streaming player but decided to stick with Roku since I'd had such good service from my first one.
This new version is really fast. Just a couple seconds and your content is playing. It's also got lots of great features. I love the headphone jack on the remote. No more disturbing the household during all night Netflix marathons!
There was only one hiccup with this new version. When I first set it up it worked great for about a week. Then it started reloading the content or saying it couldn't play the content. I called customer service and they walked me through doing a manual reset and then cycling the device. Since then there have been no other issues.
I love this Roku 3 and look forward to another long run with it!

Best of the lot

I've owned three Roku devices; the basic. The X2 and Roku 3. Roku 3 is clearly the best of them all for quick playback. I dumped my cable subscription because of this little gem and don't miss it one bit.
