We use the Roku primarily for viewing Netflix but we've explored the other channels as well. We use it every single day with three generations in the house. While there have been times that it has been a little flaky or the quality has been low, those times have been few and far between. We upgraded from a Roku XDS 1st generation device and the Roku 3 is a HUGE upgrade. I especially love how well it works like an appliance - turn it on, choose a program, and watch. I also like that it sends hi-def video and audio when they are available. I'm now considering whether I want to get a second device for the bedroom.

I like not having to add to the rats nest of wires behind my entertainment center and the wifi reception is great. Glad I finally broke down and bought my Roku3 !

Roku vs Fire tv

I bought the device approximately two years ago. It has done a fine job of streaming and I have "0" complaints. That said, the go to device for me has lately been the Fire tv simply because of Prime and ease of use. Also, I believe the resolution may be better in certain instances. It also works with another device that I have, seamlessly, the HDX Kindle. Roku does not do this as far as I know.

Buy it! I have told all my friends, family and co-workers to buy the Roku. If you have a good product, the consumer will do your advertising for you and that is certainly true of the Roku 3 (all units). I have two different versions and I am a very satisfied customer.

NO DIGITAL OUTPUT

This is the second Roku I have had, I originally had your very first HD model you put out years ago. I actually liked it better. This one is great HOWEVER I cant get digital audio without using an HDMI to my amp and my amp only has digital inputs, YOU should have made a digital output like your original ROKU ON all of your models not JUST ONE MODEL.. THAT SUCKS !!!! otherwise its fine !!

I've had this Roku for several months and love being to watch programs that are not on regular TV. So many different choices. Works beautiful and so easy to start.
