I bought the Roku XD awhile back and loved it, so I thought this was perfect for my bedroom viewing (thanks headphone jack)! I was right, it was. Best purchases I have ever made. I can stay up til the wee hours of the morning watching Netflix happily. I can also plug in a flash drive for Roku viewing of some of my favorite other stuff (although not all file formats are supported). On top of this, the Roku XD I use in the living room is still going strong years later, and is cheaper! If you find noise something you're concerned with, or want to play some of your own content, this is definitely the product for you. The image and sound quality is top-notch. <3

I got this unit in April, and I am glad I did. When there are no other option to watch movies or television programs, Roku is entertainment from the internet. Very pleased with my purchase.

Not perfect

I have been using the Roku 3 for about 6 months now. I replaced a Roku 2xs with the Roku 3 for 2 reasons. Headphone capability, and faster processor to alleviate crashes, and speed up menu operations and load times. Both reasons yielded partial success.
The headphone audio cuts out periodically for a second or 2 which is annoying. For that reason I don't use it as often as I would if it worked flawlessly.
The upgraded processor is and improvement as menu cycling is much improved, but the unit still crashes after long sustained use, such as watching a hidef movie. At the crash point it is very hot to the touch, which tells me that it needs a better way of cooling than just a heat sink.
One last negative point is the Amazon music app doesn't work well enough to use. It crashes without fail after 2 songs have been played. I am an Amazon user and for this reason if this problem is not fixed I will be looking at the Amazon Fire TV for a replacement soon. The same problem was evident on the 2XS as well. I don't know if this is and Amazon or Roku issue. Perhaps when the Prime Music app is released this issue will be resolved, but for now it is a sore spot.
All other aspects of the player are good. Easy set up, easy menu operation, nice remote, and so on. If the above concerns of mine are not concerns to you then this is a good player, but for me it is only average.

I purchased a Roku 3 and it fantastic! I highly recommend it. Set up was easy, using it easy, many options available from movies, tv, Netflix, and music! Fantastic!

I bought a Roku because my other streaming video player could not play movies on Netflix with them stopping and starting all the time. The Roku streams video on all the major applications without any problem.
