Makes life without cable television so much nicer

I never thought that I would actually subject myself to not having cable TV anymore. Once my bill just kept going up and up I decided to look into something else. Someone told me about Roku and I decided I'd check it out. It's great! I don't even miss TV anymore. It's simple, self explanatory in function, and it gets used every day. There are so many apps from different stations and some shows you can even watch live. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, especially if you are thinking about taking the "I don't need traditional TV anymore" plunge.

Nice but could be better

I have this roku 3 for almost a year now and I love the channels it has to offer. The channel and shows load quick, I know my Internet speed has a lot to with it. My 2 year old daughter loves the old cartoons as she wake up in the morning before breakfast.
My only problem with the roku is that here recently within the last month there have been numerous times where the machine will lock up and not respond to the remote, even after replacing remote batteries. The only way to fix the issue is to remove it from power and let it sell it for a few minutes then power it back on and restart it. After that it works for about a day or two then needs done again after locking up

A major step up!

Gave my mom my old Roku 2 so she could start watching Netflix et al...but mostly so I could justify upgrading to Roku 3! Best features: headphone jack in remote, the Roku media player (and hopefully next iteration can handle more file types), and Angry Birds Space

Fantastic product

I have had this in the house for about eight months and love it. We've had a Roku LT for a couple years and the 3 is substantially faster (we relegated the LT to the kids' gaming TV).
The headphone jack on the remote is a stroke of genius. I use it nearly every night while watching shows in bed. The remote is bluetooth enabled, which means you can hide the player out of sight. However, the Roku 3 also has a sensor on the front so I can use my universal IR remote (programmed with the Roku 2 remote) so run the player as well. Note that the universal remote is not nearly as responsive as the Roku 3's remote but it works.
We installed Plex on it so we can access all our networked media. Picture quality is nice as well as the audio. No complaints.
Everything about the Roku 3 is well thought-out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We purchased the Roku 3 earlier this summer as we had heard many good things about the product. We instantly synced up our Netflix account and had shows and movies streaming through our Roku within minutes- the easy of setup was great! We have had no problems with the product and thoroughly enjoy it's small size and sleek appearance.
