Great idea that needs to be refined

This is my second Roku. The first has so many technical glitches that it had to be returned to the store, so I consider that one a lemon. This one has been better, but I still have a few issues here and there. If I want to use it with headphones the batteries drain on the remote ridiculously quickly. There is no way to control the device without the remote, so it needs strong batteries. I would like to see a device that can be controlled with a remote and on the device itself. That way it can still be used even if the remote breaks. Otherwise, it has great content and most of the streaming has been smooth. Roku customer service was very helpful in trying to solve any problems with the device when contacted. I haven't yet contacted them about the battery problem since I've recently read that it is a common issue.

I owned my Roku 3 for several months now. I've enjoyed the simplicity of set up, settings and operation. I read reviews mainly about Roku 2 and 3. I decided The on the 3 because of a couple of extra features. However, had the Roku streaming stick been available at the time, I'm quite sure I would have been just as happy with it. Which ever you choose I'm sure you will be very pleased with your purchase.

It works well, only one complain. Sometimes when it boots up my remote will not communicate and I just changed the batteries in the remote. I have to pull the power cord and reboot the unit. Sometimes I have to use the App on my phone to control it until the remote starts communication. Not sure what is causing this.

Great for entertainment

I bought this a while ago, and my friends and family after seeing it asked me to get one for them. The only problem is that sometimes it restarts itself out of nothing in the middle of a movie or program. I also have a Roku2, does not have the restart problem, but Netflix look and feel is an old one not as good looking as the one on Roku3.

Bought a Roku 3 about a month ago and couldn't be more pleased. Very easy to use and control is so simple that changes can be made in a dark room without looking at the control.
