Small Investment - Big Savings

I bought this little gem over 6 months ago when I decided to "cut the cable" and cancelled my subscription to cable TV. I now watch the shows and movies I choose, when I choose to, without interruptions from sponsors AND I am saving a couple hundred $$ a month.
I love the headphone feature. I can watch TV or listen to music without disturbing anyone else.
Saving the best for last; the control unit is completely simple. I have a tech brain but it is so refreshing to not have to use it just to watch a movie.

Forget Cable TV!

I bought the Roku 3 and haven't watch my cable since! I subscribed to Hulu and Netflix, and its a perfect way to cut the cable.

Never used Roku before. Didn't know what to expect. I wanted to be able to use it in my travel trailer on vacation. Many campsites now have WiFi so I could connect to Vudu and watch my movies when i'm away from home. Works great!
One problem I encountered was with the History Channel. You get only so many "Unlocked" episodes after that you have to register. To register you must list your tv provider. Since i'm using WiFi none of the Roku listed providers will work. So I cannot register, and cannot get newer or updated episodes.

Good TV alternative

If you're tired of paying outrageous cable company monthly fees. get a Roku! There are plenty of good entertainment alternatives, and you can probably get local news online, live. There is a little too much "adult-style" programing and no way to block this content. There is no "Parental Controls"

Remote is flawed!

I feel my older Roku player functions better. Ever time I use the remote on Roku 3, I have to take the batteries out and then put them back in. I alsp like the feature on the older Roku where you have the option to "play from the beginning" .

I have 2 Roku 3's. One in the living room and one in the bed room. I enjoy a variety of technology channels as well as NetFlix. The Roku box is a good substitute for cable

I am surprised, Had to restart Roku player following steps in your trouble shooting and support program. which happened a lot, before my first Roku player died,

This is our 2 Roku. Our son got us one years ago and we had no idea what we were missing. We wore out the first one and love this one just as much.
