Roku 3 a big improvement over the Roku 2

The Roku 3 menu navigation is much faster than the Roku 2, but that, for me, wasn't the big difference. My problem with the Roku 2 stemmed from the fact that my internet service is DSL, which gives me on the best days between 5 and 6 Mb/sec and on the worst days 3.5 to 4 Mb/sec. That caused multiple stops for re-buffering on just about everything I watched, which doesn't make for a pleasurable TV experience. I bought the Roku 3 planning on getting the 2 GB micro SD card to add to the unit. I first tried the unit without the card, and, although I had fewer buffering stops, compared to the Roku 2, I was still getting a few. After I added the micro SD card, the buffering stops all but went away. I've had one stop that I can remember in the past six months. If you have cable or other real high-speed internet service, you won't see any difference since you shouldn't be experiencing buffering stops at all. If your current Roku doesn't have the earphone socket on the remote, you'll discover a another real improvement if you share your living space. I can now watch TV at audible levels AFTER my spouse goes to sleep, or while she's reading, without creating tense moments.

Incredibly simple set up, incredibly simple interface! The Roku is one of the easiest media streaming devices I've ever encountered. The price point is great, too. Some devices can only be as good as your ISP but I've used Roku with both ATTUverse and TWC without issues. It's a great way to get content and cut some of the bloat from cable bills.

The best streaming device out there

I bought a Roku 1 and now a Roku 3. The Roku 3 is amazing and simple and works like a charm. I have it on a tv that does not have any cable connected too it and it is a great replacement for a cable box.

Some nights there are no programs that interest me on any of the regular TV channels. My Roku provides me with many options for quality viewing at any time

I purchased my Roku#3 at the same time as canceling my cable service. Since that time, I have been very satisfied. The quality of the service, and the quantity of products, is refreshing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
