Many more features than older versions of Roku

I've had this for awhile now, but notice many features that older models didn't have. I love the USB connection to show videos and pics and to play music. Much more responsive than my Roku 1. Had problems with rebooting in the middle of playback from USB port, but has been fixed now.

Better than AppleTV

I've had every version of the Roku over the years and almost didn't replace my Roku 2 with the Roku 3, but certainly glad I did. The Roku 3 is so much faster than the previous versions that I've retired the sluggish AppleTV and now only stream through Roku. With all the channels you can add, Roku can't be beat.

wish we could use it more

We bought the Rokung to get rid of some Directv stations stations and still receive quality tv programming. We had trouble at first because the Roku was next to the tv and the router and receiver were in another room. I bought a LONG HDMI cable and moved the Roku closer to the router. Worked better . Biggest issue...had to order another cable because the dog ate the first cale.but still have trouble downloading programs with interution

Love my Roku 3 ...

I had been using a WiFi DVD player to watch Netflix - it was quite quirky. Tried using my Nook with HD adaptor but it was also problematic. Googled and found a review comparing Roku versus Chromecast. The review stated that the menuing was much faster and easier to use. After my experience with my DVD and Nook I went out and purchased the Roku 3. Boy was that a wise move on my part. Roku 3 is a much better experience watching Netflix. Roku's speed and smooth menuing is quite a leap forward. The Roku installed easily. Its small enough that it was easily positioned. You just have to connect it to an HDMI TV input. I used the power brick to power mine. The Remote Control is well made, feels solid, and works reliably. I highly recommend the Roku 3 over WiFi enabled DVD players or fooling with Tablets to get Netflix.

We have not even had this a month yet but so far we are very happy with our decision to purchase the ROKU 3, it is easy to use and understand, did not take a rocket scientist to figure out set up or how to use

Although I recently purchased a Smart TV with the various app installed for Netflix, Amazon, etc., I wanted to compare the HD quality using the newest Roku device. For the past five or six years, I started my Netflix experience with a Roku XD device and have never had a problem. In comparison, I must say, the HD quality appears to be better using the Roku 3 as opposed to using the apps that came with my Sony HD TV. I just wish it had a more square design (similar to the Apple TV) and that the power LED was brighter. The power LED is on the right corner, which is round, and I can't tell if it's a reflection, or if the LED is actually lit. And the remote is a little strange (sort of round) and very oddly shaped. I wish it was more flat in design. Otherwise I am very happy with the unit.

I bought this to try, now use it all the time clear reception fast downloads. After the second week I cancelled my dish saving a ton of money. I use netflex and hulu and an antenna for local news and programs
