Fantastic device

I purchased a Roku LT and it was OK. A bit sluggish, and I have an old house with lath and plaster filled with chicken wire. The 802.11g signal just would not get into my office.
So I got the Roku 3. Oh - what a speed demon! And connecting it directly into a hardwired port made all of the signal problems go away. Plus when I need to, I can take the Roku 3 into the bedroom and make use of the 5Ghz frequency which seems to blast through the lath and plaster.
I also have an Apple TV.
Hands down. Roku 3 is the winner!
I use the Roku with the Plex app, and it's simply the best!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had my Roku for about 3 months and I really like it. I really like the control it gives me. I watch what I want, when I want with no commercials. And there's lots of variety.

Love Roku ability to update automatically, don't love the infrequent freezing and lag time, enjoying the abundance of programming. The savings are real and the picture quality is unmatched by cable provider.

problem with HDMI

I had roku 3 for about a year. It works great for a while, and then i start having "hdcp unauthorized content disabled" error now and then. I tried all kinds of fixes i can found after searching. None of them fixes the problem permanently. Only thing changed is that the roku software got updated multiple times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My Roku 3 gives me more flexibility in viewing programs when I want to see them at a more convenient time in my schedule. Using basic cable, combined with my Roku player creates a nice entertainment package.

putting satalite dish network out of business!

In the early days of Netflix the streaming wasnt ideal for someone without a game system like a wii, xbox or playstation... this device is something that belongs in everyones home, its a technology thats going to put satalite television out of business!
We've loved this device, totally worth the money! The only reason I rated it 4 rather than 5 is because the device locks up from time to time and the onpy way to power it down is to unplug it... which can be a total pain.
